THE VALUE OF FRIENDSHIP - JUAN CARLOS RINCON
THE VALUE OF FRIENDSHIP
In the not too distant future, there was a girl named Maria who was a lucky girl. He had video game consoles, a mobile phone, a virtual reality television, a Tablet and even a little cyborg named Ruko. Well, the cyborg had it all the children in the world, since it was the most desired toy. Of course Daniela, Rosa's super-friend, also had it.
At first Ruko interacted very little. He said "hello", "goodbye", "I love you", he snored if you told him to fall asleep and sang the song you wanted.
Over time, the toy makers were perfecting Ruko and he was already a normal person, he knew how to play cards or chess and he even ate. All the children adored their Ruko. He was funny, smart and helped you with your homework. He was almost like a real boy.
Soon, children around the world began to stop seeing their friends, as they preferred to be with Ruko. In the schoolyards all the children turned on their cell phones to call Ruko or when they went to the cinema or the amusement park they also went with Ruko.
Maria was also delighted with her toy and no longer had contact with Daniela. They only talked when their parents stopped on the street to chat, but there was hardly any conversation between them. They were just thinking about what his Ruko was doing alone at home.
However, one day Maria's Ruko started to fail. She believed it was the battery, but the reality is that the toy had shorted out and was barely able to speak or move.
Maria and her parents brought the robot to the technical assistance store. Luckily I had a fix, but it would take a month to get it ready.
- One month? Mom, that's a long time- Maria said enraged.
The technician said he could provide him with a spare Ruko, but he would have to post a bond of $ 150. Rosa had no money and her parents refused to pay it.
-This month we have many expenses at home, we cannot afford to leave that money here- her father told Rosa.
She cried and cried thinking she would be a month without her robotic friend. However, there was nothing he could do.
That day, and the next, and the next, he was really sad. He missed his cyborg and it also bothered him to see all the children in his street and at school with his. Rosa was bored immensely and spent hours lying on the sofa watching TV or playing the game console. But without Ruko it was not the same.
Her mother, worried about her sadness, had an idea to improve Maria's spirits. He pulled out an old family photo album and sat next to the little one to be seen together. Maria did not feel like it at first, but as her mother turned the pages she was happy.
Photos appeared when Maria was a baby, when her first tooth fell out, when she turned five, at Christmas or when she learned to swim in the municipal swimming pool. Maria noticed that in all the photos there was a person next to her: her friend Daniela.
They were both the same age and had grown up together, as their parents were very close friends. The photos reminded Rosa of all the moments lived and the laughter they had at school or in the park.
Suddenly, Maria began to miss her friend more and Ruko less. He looked at the photo album every afternoon wanting to write or call Daniela to make them friends again, but that made her feel ashamed.
After so long without speaking, I'm sure she doesn't miss me. Besides, she has her Ruko… Rosa thought sadly.
One afternoon, Maria went to look for her memory album, but couldn't find it. He asked his father and mother, but they didn't know anything either. Maria was suddenly without Ruko and without her album.
Days later there was a knock on the door. Maria went to open and found Daniela at the door. He held the photo album in his hands.
Your mom gave it to mine and I've been seeing it- Daniela said.
Give it back to me? - Maria said.
If you become my friend again- Daniela said.
Yup! But you don't want to play with your Ruko anymore? Rosa asked.
At that moment the two mothers appeared through the door with the two Rukos and decided that now they would play together as they did before and that the cyborgs would be kept in a drawer together so that they were accompanied. They accepted and hugged each other.
